Jusos Südhessen advocate for class struggle and peace movements

The Jusos Südhessen, the youth organization of the SPD, have announced a new political direction centered on “class struggle” ahead of their district conference in Frankfurt am Main. Seeking to address the SPD’s current crisis, the group’s new work program focuses on distribution conflicts, specifically targeting affordable housing, low-cost mobility, and a public-interest economy.

District chairman Rodan Zeybek, who is running for reelection, criticized the current federal government’s direction and called for a political offensive focused on distributive justice. He emphasized the need for strong local structures to support citizens facing exploitation by employers or landlords.

In conjunction with the upcoming Anti-War Day on September 1, various peace movements and the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) are organizing events across Germany, including North Rhine-Westphalia. These demonstrations protest increased military spending and the potential militarization of society, calling for peace, social justice, and international understanding in response to ongoing global conflicts.
