Just Eat signs heat‑risk protection pact with Tuscan rider unions

Just Eat has reached an agreement with two Tuscan trade unions, FILT CGIL Toscana and FIT CISL Toscana, to protect food‑delivery riders during extreme heat events. The pact expands on a national agreement and implements measures such as daily climate monitoring through the Worklimate system, preventive rescheduling of shifts on high‑temperature days, exclusion of bicycle couriers from the hottest hours, extended protections for the most exposed workers, and the continuation of paid breaks. Both the company and the unions will jointly monitor the agreement’s application and address any issues that arise.

Union representatives Stefano Gorelli (FILT CGIL) and Alice Chiaramonti (FIT CISL) said the deal shows how collective bargaining can deliver concrete safety solutions, while urging broader industry investment and continued government and regional engagement to strengthen climate‑related labour protections.
