Just Eat Takeaway.com rolls out AI voice assistant across Europe
Just Eat Takeaway.com has expanded its AI-powered voice assistant across its European markets, including the UK, Germany, Poland, Spain, Austria, Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland. The tool allows customers to use natural language to discover restaurants, grocery retailers, and local shops via the company’s website and mobile apps.
Early data indicates the assistant improves efficiency, with users finding desired items approximately 40% faster than those using text-only AI assistants. Additionally, customers using the voice tool are 30% more likely to select a recommended restaurant or dish compared to those using traditional search methods. The assistant can process complex requests based on budget, dietary needs, or specific occasions, such as requesting ingredients for a specific recipe.
Jörg Gerbig, chief corporate development officer at Just Eat Takeaway.com, stated that the tool aims to reduce the friction of decision-making. Common cuisine requests through the assistant include burgers, pizza, and chicken, followed by kebabs and Indian food.
