Justice for Prosperity urges politicians to condemn right-wing extremism

The research platform Justice for Prosperity (JfP) has called on politicians to actively set norms against right-wing extremism. Founder Jelle Postma stated that failing to challenge extremist ideologies shifts public perceptions of what is considered normal.

This call follows an alarming report from the Dutch security services, NCTV and AIVD, which noted that right-wing extremists are attempting to make their views more acceptable by presenting “softer versions” of their ideology. Postma cited protests in Loosdrecht and riots at the Malieveld as examples where extremists exploit legitimate public concerns to spread their influence.

Postma argued that political leaders must condemn extremist language and behavior without hesitation, suggesting that some parties may avoid doing so to protect their electoral interests. He emphasized that politicians should prioritize national interest over party interests.
