Justice Minister Gürlek pledges to solve Emir Yuşa Atıcı case

Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek met with Mustafa and Asiye Atıcı in Trabzon to discuss the ongoing investigation into the death of their son, Emir Yuşa Atıcı. The 15-year-old was killed five years ago by a stray bullet while visiting his grandfather in the Ortahisar district.

During the meeting at the Trabzon Governor's Office, Minister Gürlek pledged to follow the case closely, stating, “We are followers of this matter until the end; we will definitely solve it, rest assured.”

The Atıcı family expressed hope that the renewed, in-depth investigation will lead to an arrest. Mustafa Atıcı noted that the family is seeking a charge of “possible intent” rather than conscious negligence. The parents highlighted the ongoing issue of celebratory gunfire in the region, emphasizing that the struggle for justice is a broader fight against the dangers of stray bullets.
