Peronism marks Day of Loyalty with diverse regional rallies

Peronist leaders across Argentina held various events to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Day of Loyalty, revealing both internal divisions and strategic positioning for the 2027 elections.

In La Matanza, Governor Axel Kicillof led a large gathering of over 20,000 people. Kicillof criticized the economic policies of the Javier Milei administration and asserted that Peronism will return to power next year. He emphasized the need to reorganize the movement to provide an alternative to the current government.

In Buenos Aires, supporters gathered at the residence of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. The former president appeared on her balcony to greet the crowd. The Partido Justicialista (PJ) issued a statement characterizing the legal proceedings against her as political proscription rather than justice.

Other regional leaders also held significant events. Gildo Insfrán, president of the PJ in Formosa, called for unity while emphasizing his commitment to provincial interests. In Tucumán, Governor Osvaldo Jaldo addressed a crowd of approximately 50,000 people, focusing on provincial leadership and Peronist strength. Meanwhile, Máximo Kirchner used the occasion to criticize the social and economic impact of the Milei administration, calling for renewed political initiative within the movement.
