Justicialist Party sees membership growth and internal friction in Argentina
The Justicialist Party (PJ) in Almirante Brown, Buenos Aires, reported a significant increase in membership during a mass affiliation campaign. Led by Mariano Cascallares, who also serves as the general secretary of the provincial PJ, the district added 685 new members in a single day on October 24. The campaign is part of a broader provincial initiative driven by Axel Kicillof to expand the party's reach.
In contrast, the PJ Municipal Council in Goya failed to convene on October 25 due to a lack of quorum. The meeting, which was organized by members of the La Cámpora sector, could not proceed as 16 of the 24 council members were absent. This failure to reach a quorum highlights internal political tensions, particularly regarding the support for Axel Kicillof's leadership within the local party structure.
