Justin Gaethje discusses retirement and future title defenses

Gaethje noted that while he has not officially announced his retirement, he and his team are increasingly considering the moment he may step away from competition.

Gaethje expressed that his perspective has shifted from being a contender chasing champions to being the champion that others are now hunting. He stated that he is not looking to select his own specific opponent for his first title defense, preferring to let his managers and coaches handle the matchmaking, as he is prepared to fight anyone.

Regarding potential rematches, Gaethje indicated he has no interest in fighting Max Holloway or Charles Oliveira again. He suggested that by defeating Topuria, he has effectively settled his accounts with those fighters.
