Justin Herbert faces criticism following Chargers loss to Rams
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has drawn sharp criticism from commentators and opposing players following a 24-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. During the game, Herbert completed 24 of 32 passes for 257 yards but threw two interceptions, including one caught by Rams safety Quentin Lake.
Sports commentator Emmanuel Acho questioned Herbert’s decision-making and ability to read defenses, using hyperbolic remarks to suggest the quarterback’s struggles with interceptions were so severe he might require corrective eye surgery.
In addition to Acho’s critique, Rams safety Quentin Lake remarked on the St. Brown Podcast that Herbert appeared uncomfortable, stating he was “throwing deli meat” and seemed to be “seeing ghosts” in the pocket. Reports indicate Herbert currently leads the NFL with 10 interceptions and ranks last among qualified players in Quarterback Rating (QBR).
