Justin Ishbia unveils renderings for White Sox stadium at The Railyards

Justin Ishbia, through his development company Canal Edge, has unveiled new renderings for a potential Chicago White Sox stadium located at a riverfront development known as ‘The Railyards.’

The proposed ballpark would be situated on the west side of the Chicago River, spanning from West Roosevelt Road south toward West 18th Street, with Canal Street serving as the western boundary. Unlike previous proposals for a stadium at ‘The 78’ located to the east of the river, this design places the right-field section directly alongside the Chicago River, potentially offering a waterfront setting similar to Oracle Park in San Francisco.

The renderings depict a stadium featuring an open roof and architectural elements like brickwork and arches reminiscent of the historic Comiskey Park. The development is positioned as a successor to previous relocation efforts that failed to gain sufficient public support in Springfield.
