Justin Lamson leads Montana State to FCS championship

Montana State quarterback Justin Lamson has found success in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) after playing for major Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs. Lamson previously spent two years at Syracuse without playing and later played for Stanford, where he set a program record with eight rushing touchdowns in the 2024 season.

After briefly considering a transfer to Bowling Green, Lamson chose to remain at Montana State to play for coach Brent Vigen and offensive coordinator Pete Sterbick. His decision led to a national championship for the Bobcats, marking the program's first FCS title since 1984. During his championship run, Lamson completed 71.6% of his passes for 3,172 yards and 26 touchdowns, while also contributing 734 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns.
