Justin Larose commits to Penn State hockey
Justin Larose, a 21-year-old forward from Saint-Lazare, Quebec, has committed to the Penn State men’s hockey program for the 2026-27 season. Larose joins the Nittany Lions following a highly productive five-year career in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
In his final junior season playing for the Newfoundland Regiment, Larose recorded 88 points (32 goals and 56 assists) in 64 regular-season games. His performance ranked fourth in the league for total points and second in both power-play points and shots on goal. He also contributed nine points in 12 playoff games during his tenure with the Regiment.
Larose was previously committed to the University of Michigan, but his name was absent from the Wolverines’ incoming freshman class announcement. At 5-foot-9 and 174 pounds, Larose is noted as one of the older and smaller recruits in Penn State’s incoming class.
