Justin Long joins Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne in drama Nasty

Actor Justin Long has joined the cast of the upcoming drama Nasty, starring Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne. The film is being directed by Mary Bronstein for Clockwork, the specialty label of Warner Bros.

Written by Isabella Jarosz, the screenplay follows a talented gymnast, played by Ortega, as she struggles to secure a spot on an Olympic team while facing her coach, played by Byrne. The character portrayed by Byrne is described as a maternal figure who is also manipulative and exploitative. Long will play Byrne’s brother, a popular co-coach with a hidden dark side.

The script was featured on the 2024 Black List of highly regarded unproduced screenplays. The project has been compared to Black Swan due to its focus on the competitive gymnastics world. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-November in New Orleans.
