Justin Martin wins 16,000 euros on ‘Wer wird Millionär?’

Justin Martin, a 21-year-old from Großbottwar, appeared on the quiz show ‘Wer wird Millionär?’ and won 16,000 euros. The appearance was notable because Martin had spent his childhood imitating the show’s host, Günther Jauch.

During the broadcast, Martin shared that as a young child, he used to dress up as Jauch—sometimes in a suit and sometimes in a vest—to host his own quiz shows for his parents and grandparents at family celebrations. A childhood photo showing Martin in a moderator’s outfit was displayed in the studio to confirm the story.

Martin performed well through the early stages of the game, though he required the audience joker for the 4,000-euro question regarding the meaning of a ‘doula’. He ultimately decided to stop before the 32,000-euro question, which concerned the film that replaced ‘Jeanne Dielman’ at the top of a decennial film ranking. He chose to walk away rather than guess, noting that the correct answer was Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’.
