Justin Muturi demands Aden Duale’s resignation over Ebola response

Former Attorney General Justin Muturi, leader of the Democratic Party of Kenya, has called for the resignation of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale following allegations of mismanagement regarding Kenya’s first imported Ebola case.

Muturi cited whistleblower reports alleging that the individual identified as ‘Patient Zero’ arrived from the Democratic Republic of Congo via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport but was allegedly cleared following a telephone communication. The allegations suggest that the patient’s travel history was not fully disclosed to hospital staff, potentially exposing healthcare workers, other patients, and the public to risk.

Muturi is demanding an independent investigation to determine if public health protocols were followed and has urged Duale to provide transparency regarding screening procedures, the protection of medical staff, and measures taken to contain transmission risks.
