Justin Slaten ruled out for remainder of season by Red Sox

Boston Red Sox reliever Justin Slaten is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury. Following a visit to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Keith Meister, medical staff identified degenerative changes in Slaten’s flexor mass.

Interim manager Chad Tracy announced that the treatment plan includes a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection. Slaten had been on the injured list for the past month with right elbow inflammation and has not pitched since August 12.

Slaten finishes the 2026 season with a 4.60 ERA across 36 appearances and 31 1/3 innings. He is one of eight pitchers currently on the Red Sox injured list.
