Justin Timberlake has expressed regret over a period in his career defined by frequent beatboxing during songs and live performances. The singer addressed the topic in the Instagram comments of content creator Hannah Young, who posted a video discussing his habit of incorporating mouth percussion into his music.

In response to Young’s critique of his former musical ambitions, Timberlake wrote, “I often look back on that time as well. I still haven’t come up with any answers. I don’t know how to apologize enough for whatever those ambitions were. Too many boots. Too many cats. I hope you can forgive me.” He concluded the comment by jokingly noting that he cannot promise he will not return to the practice in the future.
