Justin Trudeau launches Hope and Hard Work production company
Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has launched a new media and entertainment production company named ‘Hope and Hard Work’. Co-founded with his former chief of staff, Katie Telford, the company was officially introduced during the Toronto International Film Festival.
The multidisciplinary enterprise aims to develop and produce content across film, television, audio, and live experiences. In a joint statement, Trudeau and Telford expressed a mission to use storytelling to ‘bring people closer’ and foster empathy in an increasingly divided world.
The company’s current slate of projects includes an adaptation of Perry Chafe’s novel ‘Closer by the Sea’ and an adaptation of Uzma Jalaluddin’s ‘Detective Aunty’, for which Trudeau and Telford will serve as executive producers. The firm is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment.
