Justin Verlander targets final MLB start with Detroit Tigers

Detroit Tigers manager A. J. Hinch has announced that the team is targeting Saturday, Sept. 26, for Justin Verlander to make his final Major League start. If the schedule holds, Verlander will face the Pittsburgh Pirates at Comerica Park.

The 43-year-old pitcher is working to overcome hamstring and hip issues that impacted his season. To prepare, Verlander recently completed a one-inning simulated game and is scheduled to undergo an up-and-down bullpen session this week to replicate game conditions. While the start is planned, Hinch noted that the timeline remains tentative due to health considerations.
