Justus Geilhufe: Saxon pastor uses social media for outreach

Justus Geilhufe, a 36-year-old pastor in Saxony, is gaining attention for his modern approach to spreading the Christian faith. Serving the Freiberg Cathedral parish since 2021 and holding missionary duties within the Saxony State Church since 2024, Geilhufe utilizes digital platforms like Instagram and podcasts to engage with his community.

A trained theologian who studied in Jena, Princeton, Leipzig, and Munich, Geilhufe aims to offer more offensive preaching to address contemporary crises. He has also noted challenges in his work with students and confirmands, stating that antisemitism has become a common occurrence in his region. He is currently preparing to release a new book titled ‘Gott und die Wahrheit’ (God and the Truth).
