Justus Reid faces demolition of renovated Croatian home
American musician and influencer Justus Reid is facing the potential demolition of his home in the Hrvatsko Zagorje region of Croatia due to unresolved documentation issues. Reid, who gained public attention for purchasing and renovating a house for 5,000 euros, revealed that the structure—built over 40 years ago—was never properly registered as a legal building.
Reid stated that he received a letter from authorities demanding the removal of the house and surrounding structures. He noted that while many other houses in his village face similar legalization issues, he is currently the only one who has received a demolition notice.
To resolve the situation, Reid is relying on a new law that allows for the legal classification and registration of buildings constructed before 2011. He has already submitted the necessary documentation to the relevant institutions and is awaiting a response. In an effort to secure a legal address while the legal process unfolds, Reid has purchased several smaller, dilapidated properties in the same village.
