JustWatch to launch hybrid streaming platform JustWatch TV

JustWatch is transitioning from a streaming search engine into a direct streaming provider with the launch of ‘JustWatch TV’. The platform is expected to officially launch in October 2026, though a beta version is currently available for testing.

The service utilizes a hybrid model consisting of free, ad-supported content and paid options. Users can access 941 titles for free without an account or subscription by watching advertisements. For those seeking an uninterrupted experience, a ‘JustWatch Pro’ subscription is available for 3.99 euros per month, which removes advertisements and provides additional features like watchlists. The platform also intends to offer options to rent or purchase specific films.

The current beta catalog features older or niche titles, such as the 1922 film ‘Nosferatu’ and ‘The General’, suggesting the use of cost-effective licensing. JustWatch has identified partners including Paramount, New Regency, and Fremantle for its future content expansion.
