Juveniles detained following vehicle theft and damage sprees in Dunedin and Minneapolis

Authorities in Dunedin and Minneapolis have reported significant increases in vehicle-related crimes involving juveniles.

In Dunedin, police arrested two 15-year-olds in connection with a series of vehicle thefts. The teenagers face multiple charges, including unlawfully taking motor vehicles and unlawful entry into motor vehicles. The arrests follow a wave of thefts that left residents concerned about community safety and the accountability of young offenders.

In Minneapolis, police have recorded 172 cases of vehicle damage since last Friday. Three juveniles, aged between 11 and 16, were recently detained in connection with a spree involving window smashing and vehicle tampering. While one 16-year-old was booked into a juvenile detention center, the younger suspects were issued citations and released to their parents.
