Juventus CEO defends Luciano Spalletti amid performance concerns

Juventus CEO Giovanni Carneselli has expressed support for manager Luciano Spalletti following a heavy defeat to Lazio and a 2-2 draw against Rennes in the Europa League. While acknowledging that Spalletti’s position is under significant pressure, Carneselli stated that the club does not intend to make an immediate coaching change.

The club is reportedly pursuing a strategy of stability and long-term management under Chairman John Elkann, aiming to move away from frequent leadership rotations. Spalletti, who recently received a two-year contract extension, is tasked with stabilizing the team’s performance and addressing structural issues.

Spalletti himself expressed frustration over a disallowed winning goal by John Lukumi during the Rennes match and noted that he expects more from his attacking duo, Nick Woltemade and Randal Kolo Muani. Despite the recent struggles, the manager noted a positive reaction from the squad following their loss to Lazio.
