Juventus defender Federico Gatti injured during fan pitch invasion

Juventus defender Federico Gatti is facing uncertainty regarding his availability for the Serie A season opener against Frosinone following an unusual injury. During a pre-season friendly between the Juventus first team and their reserve side, Next Gen, at the Allianz Stadium, a pitch invasion occurred at halftime. During the chaos, a supporter lost their footing and accidentally collided with Gatti from behind, causing an ankle injury.

Gatti has been performing individual recovery work and missed recent team training sessions. While medical evaluations suggest the injury is not severe, the resulting inflammation makes his participation in the upcoming league match highly unlikely.

The incident also caused significant disruption to the match and physical damage to the Allianz Stadium pitch and access points. Consequently, Juventus management is reviewing organizational protocols for these traditional fan-interaction events to prevent future accidents and pitch damage.
