Juventus intensifies hunt for goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez in talks with Aston Villa

Juventus have moved into the decisive phase of negotiations to sign Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa. The club met the player’s agent in Milan and reached a preliminary agreement on personal terms, with plans to present an offer of €6‑7 million plus bonuses. Aston Villa, however, are holding out for around €10‑15 million, prompting Juventus to seek a significant discount. The Bianconeri have also identified Guglielmo Vicario as a backup option should the deal stall.

The transfer discussion has accelerated following Martínez’s performances at the World Cup, where he contributed to Argentina’s campaign. Juventus’ director Giovanni Carnevali has indicated that the club’s broader market strategy includes other targets—such as striker Randal Kolo Muani, who remains in talks with PSG over a fee gap, and various squad rebuilds—but the goalkeeper remains a top priority.

Other clubs, including Premier League sides Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, as well as Bundesliga’s Borussia Dortmund, have shown interest in PSG striker Kolo Muani, further highlighting Juventus’ active summer transfer window.
