Juventus eyes Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez for three‑year deal

Juventus is in advanced talks with Aston Villa to sign Argentina’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. Villa, which initially valued the keeper at €10 million, appears prepared to lower its demand to around €5 million, paving the way for a three‑year contract worth about €3 million per season. Martínez has expressed his desire to continue his career at Juventus and a verbal agreement is expected in the coming days.

In the 2026 World Cup group stage, Martínez helped Argentina score its first tournament goal against Jordan. He instructed his teammates to block the opposing goalkeeper’s line of sight, enabling Giovani Lo Celso to strike from a free‑kick into the net. Martínez later said, “It’s something I do… it really confuses the opponent’s goalkeeper.”
