Juventus manager Spalletti faces pressure after Sassuolo defeat

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is facing intense scrutiny following a 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo, which has left the club five points behind leaders Inter and Roma. Despite growing fan dissatisfaction and rumors regarding a potential return of Antonio Conte, Juventus director Giovanni Carnevali and football chief Ricky Massara have publicly reaffirmed their confidence in Spalletti. Spalletti has addressed the pressure, describing it as “medicine to learn how to live,” and has emphasized the need for mental clarity and tactical adjustments.

Ahead of their Europa League debut against NEC Nijmegen, Spalletti has announced a planned rotation to manage player energy. The squad faces significant selection challenges, with ten players unavailable, including Kenan Yildiz, Khephren Thuram, and Manuel Locatelli due to injury, as well as Andrea Cambiaso. The match is expected to feature new signings like Nick Woltemade.
