Juventus manager Spalletti blames loss of balance for defeat to Sassuolo

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti expressed frustration following a 3-2 defeat against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium. Despite opportunities to secure a comeback, the team lost defensive balance in the closing stages of the match.

Spalletti noted that while his instructions were to maintain an attacking approach, the players may have taken them too literally, leaving massive gaps in defense as eight players pushed forward simultaneously. He also criticized the team's lack of aggression and the high defensive line that allowed Sassuolo to exploit significant spaces.

The defeat comes amidst a growing injury crisis for Juventus, with several players including Manuel Locatelli, Weston McKennie, and Kenan Yildiz unavailable. Spalletti also highlighted the need to better utilize new signing Randal Kolo Muani to help retain possession when the midfield becomes congested.
