Empoli and Juventus Next Gen secure opening victories in Italian football

In the opening matches of the Italian football season, Empoli secured a 1-0 victory over Cremonese in Serie B. Stiven Shpendi scored the decisive goal in the 20th minute following a corner, a result confirmed after a VAR review. Despite being reduced to ten men following a red card for Ceesay, Empoli maintained their defensive structure to secure the win.

In Serie C, Juventus Next Gen defeated Novara 1-0 at the Moccagatta stadium. The match was decided by an own goal from Novara defender Lorenzini in the 12th minute. Juventus Next Gen, led by coach Massimo Brambilla, controlled much of the possession, while Novara struggled to find an equalizer despite several attempts, including a shot that struck the crossbar.

Ahead of the Serie C campaign, coach Brambilla noted that while the squad has undergone significant rejuvenation, the team is focused on adapting to the challenges of the league and improving their tactical approach.
