Juventus plans Loïs Openda exit as Belgian striker draws interest from France and England

Loïs Openda, the 26‑year‑old Belgian forward, struggled to make an impact at Juventus, scoring only two goals in 34 appearances during his first season. The club, aiming to refresh its attacking line after missing out on the Champions League, is prepared to let the striker leave, either on loan with an option to buy or via a permanent sale. Juventus hopes to recoup part of the €43 million investment and reduce Openda’s wages, as his contract runs until June 2030.

Interest has emerged from several clubs. In France, Lens – where Openda thrived in the 2022‑23 season – along with Lyon, Monaco and Rennes have been mentioned. From England, newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City is also reported as a potential destination. Juventus is reported to prefer a loan‑plus‑buy‑back deal to protect its financial position while giving Openda a chance to revive his market value, currently estimated at about €25 million.
