Juventus' pursuit of Bayern defender Minjae Kim stalls over high fee

Juventus Turin have expressed strong interest in signing Bayern Munich centre‑back Minjae Kim, but the deal is in doubt because Bayern are demanding a transfer fee far above Juventus' current budget. Reports indicate Bayern are asking at least €30 million, with some estimates reaching €40 million, while also expecting the player’s high salary to be maintained.

Juventus, whose revenue has fallen after missing Champions League qualification, are reluctant to meet those terms. The South Korean defender, who joined Bayern in 2023 for €50 million on a contract running to 2028, is currently a squad backup. The clubs are expected to decide in the coming weeks whether the transfer can be completed.
