Juventus starts preseason camp as Yildiz faces knee surgery risk and Thuram returns early
Juventus will reconvene at its Continassa training centre in early July under new coach Luciano Spalletti. Midfielder Khéphren Thuram has already arrived, returning ahead of the squad to begin medical tests and early field sessions ahead of the first friendly on 18 July against Basel.
Forward Kenan Yildiz, who spent the summer in his native Germany, is expected back around 20 July. He continues to treat a chronic patellar tendinopathy, and while surgery remains only a possibility, Juventus’ medical staff will assess his knee before deciding on any operation. The club aims to avoid overload and have him fit for the demanding schedule that could exceed 50 matches in the upcoming season.
