Juventus pursues Jhon Lucumí as Koopmeiners loan emerges as potential deal sweetener

Juventus is intensifying negotiations with Bologna to sign Colombian defender Jhon Lucumí. While Lucumí has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Juventus for a contract lasting until 2031, a significant financial gap remains between the clubs. Juventus has offered approximately 17-18 million euros plus bonuses, whereas Bologna is seeking at least 25 million euros.

To bridge this gap, Bologna has proposed a complex deal involving the loan of midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. This arrangement would allow Bologna to strengthen their midfield while helping Juventus reduce the immediate cash outlay for Lucumí. However, Juventus remains cautious about a loan deal for Koopmeiners due to his high book value following his 60 million euro transfer from Atalanta.

Complicating the negotiations is a clause requiring Bologna to pay 20% of any future transfer fee to KRC Genk. This obligation makes lower transfer offers less attractive to the Italian club. Juventus is also exploring other defensive options, including Roma's Evan Ndicka, as they work to finalize their squad before the transfer window closes.
