Juventus targets Mateo Kovačić and evaluates Douglas Luiz contract
Juventus is actively planning its summer transfer window for 2027, with Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovačić identified as a primary target. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club aims to secure Kovačić, currently at Manchester City, as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2027. Other targets include RB Leipzig's David Raum and AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori.
Due to a revenue gap of approximately 55 to 60 million euros resulting from missing out on Champions League qualification, Juventus is prioritizing players who can join on free transfers.
Separately, the club is reconsidering the future of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz. After initially seeking to move him following his 51.5 million euro transfer from Aston Villa, Juventus is now discussing a contract extension. This shift follows improved performances under manager Luciano Spalletti, who has integrated Luiz into the starting lineup.
