Juventus intensifies chase for goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez

Juventus has stepped up negotiations to sign Argentina’s World‑Cup‑winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. The club says it has reached a provisional personal‑terms agreement with Martínez and is now in talks with his current team, Aston Villa, over a transfer fee that Villa regards as very high. The Italian side is also keeping alternative options on the table. Reports mention interest in Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham Hotspur, a younger German keeper Noah Atubolu, and even a possible move for former Manchester United stalwart David De Gea. Juventus met Martínez’s agent on 8 July to push the deal forward, while the board continues to evaluate all goalkeeper candidates to ensure a clear first‑choice for the upcoming season.
