JVP leader Tilvin Silva rejects rumors of internal rift against Prime Minister
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva has dismissed rumors of internal friction within the ruling National People's Power (NPP) coalition. Specifically, Silva rejected allegations that a faction within the JVP is working to undermine Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, labeling the claims as “desperate lies” and a “ridiculous joke” manufactured by political opponents.
Silva emphasized the unity between the JVP and the broader NPP alliance, stating that the relationship between party leaders, including President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Amarasuriya, is built on mutual trust. He argued that the rumors are politically motivated attempts to sow division following the NPP's recent electoral victories. Silva further noted that such baseless fabrications are being used by opposition parties to compensate for their recent political losses.
