Jyothi Yarraji withdraws from Asian Games 100m hurdles

Indian 100m hurdler Jyothi Yarraji has withdrawn from her first-round heat race at the Asian Games in Nagoya after experiencing pain during her warm-up.

A top official from the Athletics Federation of India confirmed that Yarraji, a silver medalist from the previous edition, felt discomfort following a full warm-up session. Although she had received last-minute fitness clearance to compete despite a minor knee stress, the pain led to her withdrawal.

Yarraji is currently in the midst of a comeback following surgery in July 2025 to repair an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear in her right knee.
