Jyväskylä announces over 200 free hobbies for youth
The city of Jyväskylä has released a wide selection of over 200 free hobby options for local children and youth. This initiative is part of the ‘Harrastamisen Suomen malli’ project, which aims to ensure every child has access to enjoyable, cost-free activities during the school day.
The offerings span various fields, including arts, culture, sports, and leisure activities such as crafts, choir singing, visual arts, cooking, gaming, band activities, and various sports. These groups are designed based on the interests of children and young people and are open to all youth in Jyväskylä, regardless of their residential area.
Registration for these groups begins on Wednesday, September 2, at 17:00. Activities are available for primary and lower secondary school students, including those requiring special support. The programs are led by hobby instructors, teachers, and city cultural and sports officials.
