Jyväskylä Rally Hall of Fame Announces Historic List of Winners

The Jyväskylä Rally celebrated its legacy by adding a Hall of Fame list that records every champion from the event’s inception in 1951 through 2000. The roster includes early winners such as Arvo Karlsson and Eino Elo, multiple‑time champions like Timo Mäkinen, Tommi Mäkinen and Markku Alén, and notable international drivers including Ari Vatanen, Carlos Sainz and Juha Kankkunen. Each entry notes the driver, co‑driver and the car model they piloted, documenting the evolution of rally machinery from Austin Atlantic and Saab to Lancia, Audi and Mitsubishi.

The compilation underscores the rally’s role in Finnish motorsport history, highlighting the dominance of Finnish drivers and the event’s contribution to the development of rally sport in the country.
