K Annamalai criticizes police actions against political leaders

K Annamalai, founder of the We The Leaders movement, has criticized police actions in both Tamil Nadu and Delhi regarding the arrest of political figures.

In Coimbatore, Annamalai accused the police of acting at the behest of the ruling TVK party following the arrest of NTK functionary M Karthika. He questioned the necessity of transporting the individual from Dharapuram to Coimbatore for custody, suggesting the timing and method were questionable. He also urged Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay to address drug trafficking and improve monsoon preparedness.

Regarding events in Delhi, Annamalai criticized the Delhi Police for their crackdown on members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). While stating he does not necessarily agree with all of the CJP’s protest methods, he defended their right to question electoral roll revisions. He warned that arresting the organization's leaders could inadvertently increase their popularity and urged authorities to address the substantive questions raised by the group instead of pursuing arrests.
