K. Chandrashekar Rao celebrates Dussehra with traditional rituals

K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister of Telangana, celebrated the Dussehra festival with traditional rituals at his residence in Erravelli village.

Accompanied by family members, including his wife Shobha and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao, KCR participated in Vedic ceremonies, Vahana Puja, and Ayudha Puja. The celebrations included special prayers to the Jammi tree, which holds significant cultural importance in Telangana.

In a message to the people of Telangana, KCR highlighted the festival's connection to the state's heritage and the statehood movement. He noted the cultural significance of traditions such as exchanging greetings through ‘Alai Balai’ and sharing Jammi leaves, recalling that his former government had designated the Jammi tree as the state tree.
