K-Gagok Superstar music competition reaches 3.8% viewership

The global music competition ‘KBS K-Gagok Superstar’, sponsored by Gangnam-gu for the second consecutive year, achieved a 3.8% viewership rating on KBS 1TV, reaching over one million viewers. The program features international vocalists learning and performing Korean art songs (Gagok).

This year’s competition saw 126 participants from 36 countries during the preliminary rounds, with 10 vocalists from 8 countries advancing to the finals. George Viban from Romania won the grand prize. Other winners included Iride Martinez from Austria (Gold), Katrīna Krūmpāne from Latvia (Silver), and Anna Katharina Gröll from Germany (Bronze).

In addition to the musical performances, the broadcast featured the ‘2026 Gangnam Festival’ through host Choi Soo-jong, highlighting the district's cultural diversity ranging from traditional music to K-pop, fashion, and gastronomy.
