K League 2 promotion playoff schedule and race for second place confirmed

The Korea Professional Football League has announced the schedule for the 2026 K League 2 semi-playoffs and playoffs. The semi-playoffs are set for December 2 at 7:00 PM, featuring matchups between the 3rd vs. 6th and 4th vs. 5th ranked teams in single-elimination matches held at the higher-seeded team's home stadium. The playoffs will follow on December 5 at 4:30 PM.

The promotion structure depends on the final standing of Gimcheon Sangmu in K League 1. Due to the termination of their affiliation with Gimcheon City, Gimcheon Sangmu will be relegated regardless of their final position. If Gimcheon finishes last in K League 1, the K League 2 playoffs will consist of a two-legged series to determine the promoted team. If Gimcheon does not finish last, the K League 2 playoff loser will face the 12th-placed K League 1 team in a promotion-relegation playoff.

In the race for automatic promotion, Suwon Samsung is leading the league with 62 points and a seven-match winning streak. The battle for second place, which offers direct promotion, has intensified. Suwon FC and Seoul E-Land are currently tied at 54 points, with Suwon FC holding a slight advantage in goal difference. Daegu FC and Busan IPark remain in contention, trailing closely in the standings.
