K-League clubs prepare amateur women's teams for Queen Cup

K-League clubs Suwon FC and Pohang Steelers have held official send-off ceremonies for their amateur women's football squads ahead of the 2026 K-League Queen Cup (K-WIN CUP). The tournament, organized by the Korea Professional Football League, is scheduled to take place from the 11th to the 13th at the Jecheon Sports Town.

Suwon FC's squad, which won the Split B division last year, has been preparing through regular training and practice matches against other clubs like FC Anyang and Yongin FC. The team is led by coach Choi Yong-won and supported by the club's women's professional coaching staff.

Pohang Steelers is aiming for a consecutive title victory. During their send-off ceremony, professional players Yoon Pyeong-guk and Kim Dong-jin participated in training sessions to provide guidance and encouragement to the amateur players. Team captain Kim Ye-eun expressed confidence in the squad's growth and their readiness to defend their standing.
