K Line-led venture takes delivery of Puteri Kelantan LNG carrier
A joint venture led by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has taken delivery of the LNG carrier Puteri Kelantan from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China on September 24, 2026. The vessel was built for Petronas LNG to expand its fleet and support global deliveries.
Puteri Kelantan is the third vessel delivered under a four-ship programme contracted in April 2022. It follows the Puteri Johor and Puteri Kedah, which were delivered in May and June 2026, respectively. The final sister vessel, Puteri Negeri Sembilan, is scheduled for delivery in November 2026.
The carrier has a capacity of approximately 174,000 cubic metres, a length of 299 metres, and a beam of 46.4 metres. It is equipped with an X-DF dual-fuel, low-speed diesel engine featuring an intelligent control system designed to reduce methane slip and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
