Đắk Lắk students win two gold medals at WICO 2026 and excel in national math modeling contest

Students from Hoàng Việt School in Đắk Lắk province secured two gold medals at the World Invention, Creativity and Innovation Olympiad (WICO) 2026 held in Seoul, South Korea. Their award‑winning projects were a biodegradable material derived from durian rind intended as a leather alternative, and an artificial‑intelligence application for digitising and preserving cultural heritage.

The Đắk Lắk provincial government awarded a team of four pupils from Lương Văn Chánh High School for achieving first place in the 2026 Vietnam Math Modeling Competition (VM2C), organized by the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics and the IEG Education Development Fund. The competition drew 209 participants across 53 teams. In the same ceremony a student was recognized for attaining a perfect SAT score of 1600, the highest possible worldwide.
