K-pop popularity drives K-food consumption in Germany

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs hosted a promotional event in Berlin, Germany, to link K-pop fandom with Korean food consumption. Titled ‘FEARNOT’s K-Taste Station in Berlin’, the event was held in conjunction with a concert by the K-pop group LE SSERAFIM.

Attendees were able to sample and purchase various Korean food items, including dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken), hot dogs, mandu (dumplings), and cup tteokbokki. The initiative specifically focused on products already available in German retail stores to encourage repeat purchases and long-term consumption habits among local consumers.

As of September 2026, agricultural and food exports to Europe reached $728.38 million, representing a 23.5% increase compared to the previous year. Growth has been consistent across several categories, including noodles, sauces, processed rice products, and snacks.
