K-water exports AI water treatment technology to Vietnam

Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) has signed a contract to implement artificial intelligence (AI) water treatment operation technology at the Song Duong water treatment plant in Hanoi, Vietnam. This marks the company’s second major AI technology export to Vietnam, following a similar agreement for the Ken Dong plant in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this year.

The project, valued at approximately 1.94 billion KRW, will be executed in three stages. The AI system is designed to analyze water quality and flow data in real time to optimize treatment processes. By predicting and controlling the optimal dosage of coagulants and chlorine based on raw water conditions, the technology aims to enhance supply stability and reduce operational costs for the facility, which has a daily production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters.

K-water intends to leverage this success to expand its water management technology across Vietnam. The AI water treatment technology, which has been recognized as a ‘Global Lighthouse’ by the World Economic Forum, is also moving toward international standardization through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
