Ka Ying Rising prepares for The Everest as betting favorite
The star sprinter Ka Ying Rising has completed a successful final fast gallop at Canterbury Racecourse ahead of the Group 1 The Everest at Randwick Racecourse. Trainer David Hayes expressed satisfaction with the horse’s performance and recovery following the trial, noting that the work helped return the gelding to “game day mode”.
If successful this Saturday, Ka Ying Rising will become the first horse since Redzel to win The Everest in consecutive years. The New Zealand-bred sprinter is currently attempting to extend a winning streak to 22 races, which would set a record for a Hong Kong-trained horse. Jockey Zac Purton is scheduled to ride.
Betting markets have positioned Ka Ying Rising as the clear favorite for the race at $1.35. Other notable contenders in the betting include Tempted at $5 and Jimmysstar at $15.
